On Tuesday, the Senate Health Policy Committee debated SB 436 by Senator Erin Grall (R-Fort Pierce), which requires the state to hire a third party vendor to create and maintain a website where pregnant women and families can find vital, up-to-date information and support throughout their pregnancy and parenting journeys. The site will offer access to maternal health services, including information on prenatal care, child development, and parenting techniques. The platform will also educate parents about financial assistance programs, adoption services, and opportunities designed for fathers to foster stronger family bonds. “We understand the critical need to support Florida’s pregnant women and families across the state, to ensure every child and family has an opportunity to thrive,” said Grall. The FCCB announced its support for SB 436, which passed by a vote of 7-3. In the House, Representative Berny Jacques (R-Clearwater) filed HB 415, which is identical to SB 436 and has also passed its first committee.
