TALLAHASSEE, FL – Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops (FCCB) is pleased to announce that Ken Kniepmann has joined the staff as associate for health. Kniepmann will serve the bishops and Catholic health ministry leaders in the state as a professional resource person on matters related to health care. He will advocate on behalf of the Church and Catholic health care ministry on legislative, regulatory and other public policy proposals with particular attention to ethical and moral issues.
Kniepmann is a seasoned executive who has worked in a variety of industries over his successful career. His professional experience in various sectors has given him broad exposure to for- and nonprofit entities and religious ministries. Most recently, from 2008-2019, Kniepmann filled multiple leadership positions at the John Paul II Healing Center in Tallahassee, including board chair and executive director. While there, he had direct responsibility for overseeing and executing strategic initiatives to accommodate and facilitate organizational growth.
“Ken’s experience as an executive leader and knowledge of the legislative process will be of service to the Conference. His ability to forge strong relationships will also be important in his role,” said Michael B. Sheedy, executive director, Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Kniepmann earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselor Education, both from Saint Louis University. Kniepmann and his wife have two adult children, reside in Tallahassee and are parishioners at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
