The FCCB sent a letter on February 8 to House Appropriations Committee Chairman, Representative Jay Trumbull, requesting the full appropriation of funding for the Sadowski Programs.
The State Apartment Incentive Loan (SAIL) and State Housing Initiatives Partnerships (SHIP) are both part of the Sadowski Programs, which have aided in the construction of affordable homes, rental development and down payment assistance since 1992.
The FCCB's letter brought attention to a discrepancy between the current House budget proposal and the Senate's initial budget proposal. "We ask that the Appropriations Committee fully appropriates all of the Sadowski housing trust funds for the Sadowski Housing Programs, as was promised last term," wrote Christie Arnold, Associate for Social Concerns & Respect Life.
