Over 320 Catholic Days at the Capitol (CDAC) pilgrims from all seven dioceses in Florida could be found in Tallahassee on February 6-7, advocating at the Capitol and attending the 49th Annual Red Mass of the Holy Spirit. Held each year during the legislative session, CDAC facilitates an opportunity for Catholic Floridians to practice civic responsibility and put their faith into action.
The event began on Tuesday afternoon with a legislative briefing where FCCB staff shared their analysis of four key initiatives being considered by the Florida legislature this session.
The CDAC breakfast concluded on Wednesday morning as the Florida Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the validity of the proposed pro-abortion constitutional amendment language. FCCB led a 9-day novena to defeat the amendment leading up to February 7. The bishops concluded the breakfast by praying a rosary with CDAC participants for the Florida Supreme Court Justices as they considered oral arguments on the amendment.
