The Florida bishops will celebrate the 47th Annual Red Mass of the Holy Spirit at the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More at 6:00 p.m. on February 2, 2022. The Red Mass invokes the guidance of the Holy Spirit upon the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government, members of the legal profession and all who are tasked with leading the state of Florida. Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito of Palm Beach will be the homilist.
The bishops look forward to celebrating Mass at the newly renovated Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More. After an act of arson in 2019, the parish rector, Rev. John Cayer, led the community in designing a new sanctuary in conjunction with Granda Liturgical Arts and Newspace.info.
Bishop William A. Wack, CSC of Pensacola-Tallahassee anointed the new sanctuary during a special dedication Mass on January 19. "I am so proud of the work, dedication, and devotion of the people of God in Tallahassee and beyond," said Bishop Wack. "Our newly-renovated church will continue to be a place of faith, beauty, comfort and joy for countless parishioners, students and visitors for years to come. All glory be to God."
