Social Concerns

The Conference supports the belief that all persons have certain basic economic rights and society has a moral obligation to ensure, so far as possible, no one among us is hungry, homeless, unemployed or otherwise denied whatever is necessary to live with dignity.
2013 Priority areas:
Supporting alternatives to incarceration in the criminal and juvenile justice systems
Increasing success of youth transitioning from foster care to independent living by ensuring accountability for financial support
Maintaining funding levels for persons with disabilities to live in appropriate settings with adequate assistance
Encouraging use of affordable housing trust fund dollars as intended for state and local housing programs and partnerships
Protecting Florida's water supply from depletion and pollution
Opposing expansion of casino gambling in Florida
